Faculty-Led Programs are organized by Rutgers – Newark faculty members to different parts of the world every winter, spring and summer. The courses offer a credit-bearing short-term study abroad experience. Learn outside the classroom with your faculty.

International Leadership Exchange

Through the integration of course readings, classroom discussions, lectures and community engaged learning projects, this dynamic field-study challenges participants to broaden their theoretical and practical understanding of community, nonprofit and public organizations committed to sustainable living, education, public health and community wellness.

India & Nepal
Local to Global Internship

In August, Rutgers Newark students traveled to India and Nepal, collaborating with local NGOs on community projects and research. The experience allowed them to apply academic knowledge, gain cultural insight, and deepen their understanding of regional challenges.

Sustainable Living

Outdoor Education & Wilderness Immersion

Rutgers Newark students travel to New England, where they learn about sustainable living, theory, and practice. In addition to a 3-4 day expedition. Students also engage with a collection of public and private organizations committed to sustainable development.
